On January 21-22, 2016 the BRIC Foundations lecture series will host two lectures by Dr. Henry "Fritz" Schaefer. Recognized as one of the world's most influential scientists, Schaefer currently is Graham Perdue Professor of Chemistry and director of the Center for Computational Chemistry at the University of Georgia. Holding degrees from MIT and Stanford Universities, he has written or contributed to over 1,500 authoritative scientific papers and is one of the world's most-cited researchers. Schaefer is a fellow of twelve learned and scientific societies and is a pioneer in the application of computational systems and methods to the study of molecular quantum mechanics. He is the recipient of virtually every honor or prize awarded for chemical research. In 2012, Schaefer was cited by U.S. News and World Report as one of the seven chemists most deserving of the Nobel Prize who have yet to be so recognized.

Topic: A Day in the Life of a Scientist: An Autobiographical Sketch

"Life of a Scientist," is an autobiographical sketch in which Prof. Schaefer shares scientific and personal milestones that have shaped his life and career thus far, including the influences that form his Christian worldview.
