Religious Freedom Summit

DateSeptember 18, 2015
Time9:00 am - 4:30 pm
LocationThe Catholic University of America
DescriptionWe are witnessing a worldwide crisis in religious freedom, with significant implications for individual human lives, for virtually every nation, and for international justice and peace. In some areas, violent religious persecution is literally destroying the lives and communities of Christians, Muslims, and other minorities, and destabilizing nations and entire regions. Elsewhere, including in the West, governments and societies are losing an understanding of the value of religious freedom for all. These subjects are on the agenda of Pope Francis during his visit to the United States.

Just prior to the Pope's arrival, on September 18 at the campus of The Catholic University of America, a Religious Freedom Summit will address the international crisis concerning religious freedom and what we can do about it. The event will be co-sponsored by Baylor University, the Catholic University of America, and the Georgetown-Baylor Religious Freedom Project with the support of The Knights of Columbus.
