Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade
Date | December 28, 2013 |
Time | 11:00 am - 2:00 pm |
Location | Central Avenue to Camelback Road to 7th Street Phoenix, AZ |
Description | When we talk about Spirit of the Southwest, we don't mean the ghost of a cowboy with a holster at his hip or a mirage of wild mustangs thundering across the McDowell Mountains. We're referring to The Spirit of the Southwest, the annual Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. Now in its 43rd year, the Parade will feature a wide variety of brightly-colored floats, magnificent helium balloons, equestrian units, specialty groups, charitable organizations and local celebrities. The Yarnell Hill Firefighter's families will lead the Parade through central Phoenix as this year's Grand Marshals. This event will also showcase the participants and winners of various Fiesta Bowl events, including participants in the Fiesta Bowl Band Championship, winners of the Fiesta Bowl Twirl-Pom-Cheer & Flag Championship and the Fiesta Bowl Queen & Court. The Parade route traverses nearly two miles in central Phoenix. The event is free to the public with premium reserved seating available for $25. We extend a warm welcome to all visiting and local parade spectators and participants. Special thanks to the local community for hosting this event and to title sponsor Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation for continuing to cultivate The Spirit of the Southwest. Purchase tickets through the link below; admission is free to the public, but there are charges bleacher seating and seating for those with disabilities. |
