Time | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm |
Location | Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village |
Description | Enjoy your Wednesday mornings in June at the newly revitalized Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village located behind the Mayborn Museum. Join in the fun and learn what it was like to live in a rural farming community in the late 1800’s. Visitors will be able to explore, ask questions and participate in various 1890’s activities such as; old fashioned games, churning butter, shelling corn, pumping water; wringing laundry and grinding herbs. Visitors will also be able to see what was for sale in a Commissary (Wal-Mart of the 1890’s). They will step into a one-room school house and observe the various teaching materials that were used during that time period. Horse-drawn carriages will be on display, and hymns will be a joyful sound in the church for all to hear. Experience the fun every Wednesday morning in June from 10:00am-12:00pm. |
