DescriptionJoin us on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 for the Department of Religion's Annual Ministry Guidance Conference. The presenter will be Dr. Matt Stanford, PhD. Dr. Stanford is a CEO of the Hope and Healing Center & Institute (HHCI) in Houston, TX and adjunct professor of psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine and the Houston Methodist Hospital's Institute for Academic Medicine.

His research on the role of faith communities in mental health care has been featured in such national publications as The New York Times, USA Today, and Christianity Today. A fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, he is the author of numerous research articles in psychology, psychiatry, and neuroscience as well as several books including his most recent, Madness and Grace: A Practical Guide for Pastoral Care and Serious Mental Illness.

In this presentation Dr. Stanford will discuss how a local church might use resources and training in supportive mental health services as a foundation to enhance its missions and evangelism ministries.
