DescriptionFaculty and Staff participants will register in Ignite. Log into www.baylor.edu/ignitelogin and navigate to the "Learning Module".

Mental Health First Aid is an interactive training course that introduces students, faculty, and staff to the risk factors and warning signs of mental health challenges.

Participants will learn the potential risk factors and warning signs for a range of mental health problems, including the following: Depression, Anxiety/Trauma, Psychosis, Substance Use Disorders, and Self-Injury. Participants will learn an understanding of the prevalence of various mental health disorders in the U.S. and the need for reduced stigma in their communities. Participants will learn a 5-Step Action Plan encompassing the skills, resources, and knowledge to assess a mental health crisis, select and implement appropriate interventions, and help individuals in crisis to connect with appropriate professional care.

Registration ends 1 week prior to the date of the training.

Participants will receive information regarding self-guided mandatory pre-work that must be completed prior to the date of the training. It will take participants 2 hours to complete this self-guided portion of the class.
