Cross-Campus Common Ground for Action (CGA) National Issues Forums Series

DateApril 5-10, 2021
DescriptionApril 5-10 is the biannual week of college student-focused Common Ground for Action forums, which offer students a chance to deliberate about public issues with peers who have different stories, opinions, and experiences from other universities. This initiative has grown from students at 5 universities deliberating for one day to more than 250 students across 26 campuses participating in a full week of forums moderated by students. This year, faculty and students from Westmont College Center for Dialogue and Deliberation and James Madison University Institute for Constructive Advocacy and Dialogue are partnering to convene and moderate these forums on a variety of issues: Youth and Opportunity, Free Speech and the Inclusive Campus, Policing Reform, Back to Work, and Sustaining Ourselves.

Students are invited to participate in one or all of the forums scheduled throughout the week.
