Description | Baylor Opera Theater presents American composer John Duke's "Captain Lovelock," an amusing one-act opera from 1953. It tells of a wealthy, elderly widow who wishes to marry a young army officer. Her daughters conspire with a marriage broker to show the old lady the folly of her plan. Performers are : Charity Cooper (Terentia), Deb Sorensen (Pernille), Kate Gillman (Kirsten), Natalia Leslie (Leonora), and Halle Hill (Laurentia). Baylor Opera Theater is directed by Jen Stephenson, with music preparation by the conductor, Joseph Li. The assistant director is Emily Wood, and the pianist is Maggie Stith.
