LocationLipscomb Room - BDSC
DescriptionAudience: Faculty/Staff

ADVISE is Advisors Discussing Various Issues and Sharing Experiences. Higher education institutions must monitor the academic progress of students who receive federal financial aid. Baylor has established minimum standards students must meet to be eligible to continue receiving federal financial aid. Academic advisors, who will be asked to sign SAP, or Satisfactory Academic Progress, forms for students, must be familiar with SAP standards. We will hear from Dr. Janis Hunter from the Student Financial Aid Office about the policies and procedures associated with Satisfactory Academic Progress. Baylor has implemented new procedures for dropping and adding classes during the semester and Anna Kay Hollon-Harris from the Office of the Registrar will join us to describe the Add/Drop and Registration form along with the “Before You Drop a Course” document. Join us and learn how these two sets of procedures overlap and how advisors can be prepared to assist students as they make important decisions about adjusting their class schedules once the semester is underway.Read More »
