Supersymmetry Searches at the Large Hadron Collider with Jets and Missing Energy Signature
Supersymmetry (SUSY) is one of the best motivated candidates for physics beyond the Standard Model. The range of energy covered by the LHC makes it the ideal machine for searching for signals of SUSY theories, through the detection of the production of supersymmetric particles in proton-proton collisions. The Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) can pass through the detectors without a trace, and result in the imbalance in observed energy, called missing energy. I will present searches for SUSY in the LHC data collected at center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV by the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment with the jets and missing energy signature. I will discuss the promise and challenges of the searches at 14 TeV as well.
