"Standard Clocks" in the Primordial Universe
Modern experiments have established better than ever a standard model of the Big Bang universe. However, this model requires some initial density fluctuations with very interesting and mysterious properties. Theoretical paradigms have been proposed to explain these initial conditions, and the leading candidate is the inflationary paradigm. Experimentally distinguishing different
paradigms that lead to this Big Bang model remains an outstanding challenge in modern astrophysics and cosmology. In this talk we introduce a generic type of signals -- the Standard Clock signals -- that may be observed in experiments and used as a direct evidence for a specific primordial universe paradigm.
