|Description||Doug is a family business consultant based in Dallas, Texas. Practicing since 2005, Doug has specialized in succession planning, conflict management, family governance, meeting facilitation and executive coaching. He also is a featured speaker at at conferences and family forums.
In addition to his consulting and presentation skills, Doug brings personal experience to his understanding of the complexity of families working and/or owning together. As the youngest of four sons he grew up and worked in a family oil & gas business founded by his father. The Box Family controlled a number of public and private companies with interests in oil & gas, cement manufacturing and real estate. Doug grew up working in all areas of the family enterprise. Following his father's sudden death and a litigious four-year family ordeal, in 1997 Doug led the sale of the family oil and gas concern known as Box Energy Corp.
Doug has an MBA from Baylor University and a masters in Dispute Resolution from SMU. He also holds the Certificate in Family Business Advising and has been a member of FFI since 2005.
