Pre-Inflationary Dynamics in Modified Loop Quantum Cosmology
This talk will mainly focus on two modified loop quantum cosmological (mLQC) models. Although the big-bang singularity is also resolved in these mLQC models, important qualitative deviations from loop quantum cosmology (LQC) do appear in the prebounce phase. Meanwhile, careful analysis also reveals quantitative differences of these models in the super-inflationary phase in which the Hubble parameter changes drastically. Considering a universe filled with a single scalar field, we find that the inflation is almost bound to occur in these two models if the self-interaction term of the scalar field is the chaotic potential. Finally, the talk will show how to look for the approximate analytic solutions of the background evolution in these modified models. By adjusting two parameters in the analytic solutions, one can reduce the relative error between the numeric and the analytic to less than 1% during the whole bouncing phase. The expected solutions of this particular form can also be applicable to the other modified loop cosmological models which are to be discovered in the future.
About the speaker:
Baofei Li obtained his Master’s degree in physics in China and came to Baylor University in 2012. In December 2017 he received his PhD in physics. Then, starting from February 2018, he continued to work with Prof. Anzhong Wang as a post-doctoral researcher on loop quantum cosmology.
