Many instructors use Classroom Response Systems ("clickers") to record attendance and administer routine quizzes. While clickers can help instructors navigate such administrative demands, they are also a proven instructional tool for classes of all sizes and disciplines. Research indicates that when used thoughtfully, clickers can help students become more engaged and motivated, provide useful insight to students and instructors about student learning, and improve performance on exams. This SET will briefly discuss the research supporting clickers as a learning tool and provide a short tutorial and interactive demonstration of clicker technology. Participants will then work in break-out groups, led by several Baylor instructors from a range of disciplines, focused on writing clickers questions to support specific learning goals. Instructors who are unfamiliar with clickers will learn the basics and best practices, and seasoned users will discover new and refined methods for improving learning with clickers.
