Localizing Gravitational Wave Sources with Single-Baseline Atom Interferometers
The discovery of gravitational waves (GWs) has opened an entirely new window to our cosmos. In the regime of this study, the localization of the sources of GWs is important for us. Different techniques have been developed for the localization of GW sources. For signals within the midfrequency band (about 0.03-10Hz) one of the good detection methods is to utilize single-baseline atom interferometers (AI). In this talk, I will present the basic design of these kinds of detectors with few demonstrated examples. These examples include detections using satellite-based and terrestrial detectors. Additionally, the accuracies and performance characteristics of these detection schemes and the prospective meaning of the GW detections will be discussed.
