|Description||Of Texas Rivers and Texas Art Reception
February 6, 2018
On display beginning January 29 at the Mayborn Museum, Of Texas Rivers and Texas Art uses contemporary representational art as a vehicle to pique visitors’ curiosity about the state’s water resources, while creating meaningful opportunities to learn about how Texas rivers directly impact residents' daily lives, industrial activity, the economy, recreation and wellness, and agriculture. Andrew Sansom, a leading Texas conservationist, and William E. Reaves, an influential Texas art collector and historian, have teamed up to showcase some of the finest contemporary river art detailing the gorgeous traits of Texas landscapes.
Join us for a reception featuring a meet and greet and book signing with the authors and select artists including Lee Jamison who painted many of the murals at the Mayborn Museum.
Reception is included in the price of admission. Admission is free for all museum members and Baylor University students, faculty, and staff.
