|Description||Organized and sponsored by the Department of Physics at Baylor University, Science Thursdays is a series of one-hour talks on various scientific topics. No science background is required, only enthusiasm for and an open interest in science.
Evolutionary Solutions to Pollution
Evolutionary toxicology is the study of how populations adapt to withstand the toxicity of chronic pollution. I will present examples of fish populations adapting to pollution, with an emphasis on our recent work with Gulf killifish (Fundulus grandis) from the Houston Ship Channel, Galveston Bay, Texas. Cole Matson (Ph.D., Texas A&M) is an Associate Professor of Environmental Science at Baylor University.
Join the speaker and guests for coffee and cookies prior to each lecture at 6:30 pm. Science Thursdays lectures are free and open to the public; however, admission to the museum is not included.
