CECIV06 Introduction to Public Deliberation

DateFebruary 13-27, 2018
LocationMayborn Museum
DescriptionAt a time when national public policy conversations are characterized by bitter partisanship and sharply divided polarization, come join Baylor Public Deliberation Initiative for a different kind of conversation, one that changes the public discourse and promotes community problem-solving. In this three-session workshop with Erin Payseur Oeth, you will learn about the deliberative model, participate in a public deliberation forum, and practice basic facilitation skills. You will also consider ways to actively use public deliberation to address current issues within your spheres of influence. A facilitation workbook is provided in the course cost. Please note that this is a prerequisite course for more advanced PDI courses.
