Dialect and the Making of Modern China featuring Dr. Gina Tam from Trinity University on Monday, April 6, at 3:30pm (Cashion 311).
Dr. Gina Anne Tam is an assistant professor of Chinese history at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Having graduated from Stanford University in 2016, she has research interests in the history of collective identity, including race, ethnicity, nation, and gender, in modern China. Her first book, Dialect and Nationalism in China, 1860-1960, is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press in 2020.
