DescriptionKirsta Melton, Deputy Criminal Chief of the Office of the Texas Attorney General, leads a workshop focusing on combating human trafficking. This workshop cuts through the confusion, arming participants with an understanding of what human trafficking is and helps them recognize the signs of human trafficking. This seminar walks participants through actual cases prosecuted in the state of Texas for illustration, identifies the tools of traffickers and how they are typically utilized to obtain and maintain victims, outlines victim needs and the barriers to identification and rehabilitation, and gives participants red flags and interview tips that they can use to begin the identification process.
