Mr. Barfield joined the Baylor faculty as an adjunct instructor in 2006. He teaches the graduate financial accounting class in Baylor's Executive MBA program in Dallas. He retired as the Vice President and Treasurer for RadioShack Corporation in 2014 after 26 years of service. He is currently the CFO of Specialty Consumer Services.
RadioShack Corporation is a Fortune 500 corporation concentrating in consumer electronics retailing, but also manufactures consumer electronics products. Mr. Barfield was responsible for RadioShack Corporation's global treasury functions and its global risk management relationships, as well as both its domestic and international tax planning and compliance activities.
Mr. Barfield has extensive experience in domestic and international taxation and business restructuring. He has been involved in numerous mergers, acquisitions, initial public offerings, and divestitures. Mr. Barfield is a frequent speaker on executive compensation and stock options, taxation and planning to groups such as the Texas Tax Institute, KPMG Best Practices meetings, and the Fort Worth Bar Association.
