Baylor Professional Selling (ProSales) students Paris Cabrera, Susan Sullivan and Samantha Weare competed in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up October 19-21, 2017. The team represented Baylor well, with junior Paris Cabrera finishing 10th place overall from a field of 60 competitors and Baylor finishing 7th place out of 20 university teams.

"The Great Northwoods Warm-Up sales competition was a great experience, said Cabrera. “This competition is unlike any other because it isn’t just a competition - competitors get great feedback, opportunities to network with potential employers, and enjoy fun events like trivia and a comedy show. I am so happy I was able to participate in this exciting and well-rounded competition!”

Dr. Andrea Dixon, Executive Director of Baylor's Center for Professional Selling, led the team as faculty coach and was assisted by Professional Selling staff Amanda Rodriguez. ProSales students Emily Mertens, Melanie Moore and Clay Tinkham played an integral role in preparing the team as student coaches. Alumni coach Taylor Dixon of 3M also prepared the team during the on-site competition in Wisconsin.

“Serving as an on-site coach was such fun and enriching experience,” explained Taylor Dixon. “It was impressive to see the students grow and apply the feedback they received as they competed in their first competition. These students represented Baylor in the best way possible, and I am so proud to have been a part of their first competition.”

The Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up is a national collegiate sales competition that showcases marketing and sales students from across the United States and is designed to be a transformative learning experience.
