Sharing a meal with friends is a rather common occasion. Sharing a meal with a giraffe? Now that's a horse (or giraffe) of a different color.

On Saturday, July 21, Baylor Professional Selling students and alumni braved the 105-degree heat to take advantage of a "Day-At-The-Zoo" package donated by the Dallas Zoo for the Spring 2012 ProSales Golf Links golf tournament silent auction. As the winning bidder, Dr. Andrea Dixon, executive director of the Center for Professional Selling, hosted ProSales students in Dallas-based internships and Dallas-based 2012 ProSales graduates at the day-long zoo excursion.

Students and alumni journeyed through wildlife habitats from around the world, enjoyed a monorail safari tour through the African savanna, and had lunch in the Serengeti Grill, which features a floor-to-ceiling observation window that gives an up-close view of the zoo's pride of lions. The day was highlighted by a trip to the Giants of the Savanna exhibit, where participants had the unique opportunity to hand-feed leaves of romaine lettuce to hungry giraffes.

"The trip to the zoo was a great way for current students of the ProSales program to connect with our alumni," said Eric Prevatte, a senior ProSales major from Cedar Park. "The zoo was beautiful and the experience was memorable. We had a wonderful day!"

ProSales majors are beginning to wrap-up a broad variety of summer internship and study abroad experiences and will return to classes at Baylor on August 20.
