A Sales Manager with Crown Lift Trucks, Doug Borger has been with the global manufacturer for over 14 years. After graduating with a BS in Business Administration and a specialization in Marketing from Bowling Green State University, Doug joined Crown in their corporate office in New Bremen, OH.

In his current role based in Dallas, Doug is responsible for coaching and developing Crown’s sales team, maintaining, and growing their market share, and managing profit and loss statements for the branch. “We are in the material handling business. Any business that uses forklifts or moves pallets is a potential customer.”

In his professional life, Doug has felt most fulfilled when investing in and coaching young sales representatives. “It is an accomplishment to see them develop into sharp and effective professional salespeople.” Personally, it has been important to him to learn Spanish. “My wife is from Veracruz, Mexico and through our journey I learned to speak her primary language.”

Outside of work, Doug has remained connected with the American Marketing Association (AMA). Notably, while in college, he came in 4th in the AMA Conference Selling Competition his senior year and is grateful for the experience he gained throughout his involvement with the organization. Doug also spends time volunteering at various local food drives in and around Dallas.

As a member of the ProSales Ambassador Board, Doug advises students to explore different industries and the varying sales roles available. “Gain as much experience as possible, not only through internships, but also through job shadows and interactions with other businesses.”
