By Meghan Bailey

On Monday, February 7, there is a speaker lecturing on "The Impact of Federal Home Loan Bank Advances on the Bank-Insurance Fund." The lecture will be held in Hankamer School of Business in the Graduate Center Executive Conference Room at 3:30 p.m.

The speaker, Mark Vaughan, of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond will be speaking to any students wishing to attend.

Vaughan's lecture is titled "Should the FDIC Worry about the FHLB?" The FHLB is the Federal Home Loan Bank. His lecture is based upon his research findings to this question.

Vaughan's research contributes to both academic studies of deposit-insurance premiums and policy debates over deposit-insurance reform. His attempt to answer these questions results in his own model of the impact of the FHLBank advances. He will be sharing all of his findings in his research.

The lecture should be of interest to most business students and graduate students. Any students are welcome to attend the lecture.
