The Texas Business Hall of Fame named Ethan Holmes, a student in the Baylor Executive MBA program at Austin, a recipient of the 2019 TBHF Future Texas Business Legend Scholarship.
“To even be considered for the scholarship was an honor,” said Holmes, “but, to actually win, was a very proud moment. To be able to represent Baylor and the Hankamer School of Business is a distinct privilege.”
The Texas Business Hall of Fame awards scholarships to outstanding students from participating Texas universities who exhibit an entrepreneurial drive and leadership spirit.
After the completion of his EMBA, Holmes intends to start a food allergen friendly condiment company. He hopes to use his experience in the food and hospitality industry to help effect change of the nation’s food policies.
Upon learning that Holmes was awarded a 2019 TBHF scholarship, Stacy McCracken, director of the Austin Executive MBA Program, said she couldn’t wait to tell Ethan that he had been selected.
“Our students are hard-working, collaborative, and talented,” said McCracken, “working with our students to help them achieve their personal and professional goals is one of the best parts of my role.”
Applying for the scholarship included submitting an application with a personal narrative of Holmes’ future plans as an entrepreneur and an interview with members of the TBHF Board and Scholarship Committee.
According to the TBHF website, it is the mission of the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation to honor the accomplishments of Texas business leaders and to “perpetuate and inspire the values of entrepreneurial spirit, personal integrity and community leadership in all generations of Texans.”
