Baylor University hosted the Texas Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Student Conference and Games on April 12-13. Student representatives from 11 universities across Texas attended the conference.
The conference included a jeopardy-style Human Resources Games competition. The Baylor team was represented by Lucas Davidsz, Tori Falbo and Emily Mershon who won second place out of 11 competing schools. The University of Texas at Dallas team won first place.
Human Resources students were given the opportunity to learn from industry experts about the future trends in Human Resources as well as important issues surrounding the industry. Participants were able to connect with students and faculty from Human Resources programs across the state.
“This conference was valuable because I had the opportunity to hear Human Resources professionals speak on their experiences,” Davidsz said. “Human Resources is a constantly evolving field and it was beneficial to hear insight from professionals who are currently experiencing the changes in the field.”
