The 2018 Dale P. Jones Business Ethics Forum: Week One Panel EventsOct. 31, 2018

Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business will host the 2018 Dale P. Jones Business Ethics Forum from Wednesday, Oct. 24 to Friday, Nov. 16. This year’s theme is “The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence” and the forum will kick off the first week with two panel events and an MBA Ethics Luncheon.
On Oct. 25, the Business Ethics Forum will host the Industry Panel, “AI and Ethics.” Participants include George Montañez, a Baylor Business graduate and assistant professor of computer science at Harvey Mudd College, Sujatha Kashyap, program director of cognitive systems performance at IBM Research and Sujatha Perepa, Watson solution delivery architect at IBM Watson. The panel will be moderated by Robert J. Marks II, distinguished professor of engineering at Baylor University. The event will be held in McClinton Auditorium, Foster 240, at 7:30 p.m.
George Montañez will host the following day’s MBA Ethics Luncheon, “Which Ethics? AI Ethics in Light of Micah 6:8” in the Paul and Jane Meyer Conference Center, Foster 250, at 11:30 a.m. Attendance to the MBA Luncheon is by invitation only.
A second panel will commence on Oct. 26 to discuss “Theology of AI for Business.” Participants in this panel discussion include Paul Golata, engineer, adjunct professor and author, Brandon Lackey, co-founder of Drone Pilots Network and Robert Verrill, a Dominican priest and Baylor philosophy Ph.D. candidate. The discussion will be moderated by Rebecca Kennedy, the dean for Spiritual Life and Missions at Baylor University. The event will take place in McClinton Auditorium, Foster 240, at 1:30 p.m.
