What is Cyber Security?

Business analytics is generally explained as the practice of protecting systems, networks and programs from cyber-attacks.  There are three key components that must work together to create an effective defense against cyber-attacks:

  • People – End users are the first line of defense against cyber-attack.  How does an organization educate and empower employees to be secure with their technology?
  • Processes – What are some frameworks to deal with both attempted and successful threats, how do you conduct a Risk Management Assessment to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Technology – Tools and software used to protect endpoint devices like computers, routers, smart devices.  Learn about firewalls, malware protection, antivirus software and more.

Explore the foundational aspects of cyber security and how they relate to organizations and businesses and learn how to effectively mitigate information risks. The program dives into the critical topics facing organizations today and will prepare you for a variety of careers in areas such as threat analysis, cyber defense, and network security.
