Mike Markwardt is the president of Markwardt Enterprises, which serves companies in their import-export activities by providing cost efficient solutions for logistics services such as 3PL warehousing, harmonized tariff duty calculation, customs regulations, international freight forwarding, brokerage, shipment documentation, payment options, port-to-door freight cost calculation, freight consolidation, air cargo, container optimization, and other supply chain management services.
In 2003, Mr. Markwardt founded Legaré Furniture, which designs and imports a line of tool-free assembly furniture that has received numerous design awards and international patents for its simple assembly and eco-friendly manufacturing processes. He sold Legaré to Kittrich Corporation in 2013 when he launched his consulting business.
For more than 18 years, Mr. Markwardt served in the leadership of Encon Industries, where, as President/CEO, he led a team of 200 employees in Texas, China, Taiwan, Canada, Mexico, England, and Germany to turn a small family business into the world’s second largest supplier of ceiling fans. In 1999, he and his family sold Encon to Westinghouse Lighting.
Mr. Markwardt has served on the boards of Tandy Leather, the Gladney Center for Adoption, Fort Worth Sister Cities International, the Fort Worth International Committee, and the advisory board of the Launch Business Accelerator at the Baylor Research & Innovation Collaborative. He earned a BBA in International Business with a minor in Marketing from Baylor University.
