Free Enterprise at the Baugh Center

Danny Huizinga Appointed First Student Fellow

July 31, 2014

Danny Huizinga, a senior Economics and Finance major, has been selected as our first student fellow for 2014-2015. Danny has been actively involved at Hankamer and is particularly interested in public policy. He has served as President of the College Republicans on campus and interned this summer at the Committee on Ways and Means in the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. While there, he was also able to attend the Values and Capitalism conference hosted by the American Enterprise Institute. Danny has also written over 120 political columns featured in more than 14 publications.

Danny will help us to better identify and promote Center activities among students at Baylor. On receiving the honor, Huizinga stated, "Students I talk to around campus are interested in learning about the power of free enterprise and the innovative solutions it offers to many of the difficult policy questions today. The Baugh Center for Free Enterprise is uniquely placed to meet this need in a way that engages students. I'm grateful to Baylor for their support, honored to accept this appointment, and excited to see what we can achieve this year."
