This full day of content will start early with a light breakfast followed by several sessions on the latest information from leading authorities within the family business practice including:
Dr. William J. Worthington – Director of the Institute for Family Business at Baylor University will frame the conversations for the day to place the material in context. The best way to maximize fulfillment within your family business is to secure the firm-family interface while putting faith back on the table.
Mr. Charlie Carr-Managing Director with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) Family Enterprise Advisory Services will explore best practices used within his operational strategy discussions with large family offices. Charlie consults and speaks to large family business owners across the country to create family charters and other governing mechanisms designed to connect their firm with its guiding values. He will share his counsel with you.
Mr. Doug Box– Founder of Box Advisors will equip you with tools to solidify the complex array of relationships operating within your family firm. He has years of experience guiding family firms with his formal training in family business counseling and conflict resolution interlaced with the tragic tale of his own family business. He will explore ways you can avoid conflicts and equip you with tools to handle conflicts that do arise.
Dr. Marlene Reed will join Mr. Landon and Mrs. Meggan Wood to explore the growth of Lily Jade, LLC through their use of digital media community building and product fulfilment techniques. Their story combines the joy of connection within authentic community to steadfast online growth tactics that have enabled Lily Jade to manage strong growth while staying connected to their purposeful mission.
Mr. Mike o'Krent from Life Stories Alive will interview Mr. Jay Dickens of Creekside Ranch Group, LLC who will share how his family's love of the outdoors has translated into business and service opportunities for his extended family across Texas and Colorado.
Mr. Gib Reynolds will moderate our Next Gen Panel– a recurring favorite attribute of the annual Symposium is our panel of current family business students each considering their pathway into their family business. Each has alternative options and differing motivations. We will explore their journey; you will hear their concerns and experience illumination into your own next gen.
