Below are the eligibility guidelines for Baylor Youth Entrepreneur Awards. We wish to award this prize to an outstanding young person who fits the following criteria:

  1. Must be currently enrolled in high school
    • Student must be willing to provide an enrollment verification
  2. Must have an established business that currently generates revenue (or have clear sight to revenue within 3 months of the application date)
    • Clear sight to revenue can be in the form of purchase orders, client agreements, MOU agreements, etc.
  3. Student must be the primary owner-operator of the company
    • Student must own 51% or more of the company's equity (or proposed equity if there is no entity formed)
    • Student must be the founder, co-founder, or otherwise the "principal" of the company
    • Student may not necessarily be the originator of the idea but must be the one fundamentally responsible for the idea's execution
  4. There are no restrictions on the number or types of companies for which students may be honored
  5. Once nominated, students must complete all parts of the award application - incomplete award applications will not be eligible to win the award
  6. All deadlines must be kept to remain eligible
    • Extenuating circumstances causing students to miss deadlines may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Baylor program staff, and allowances may be made for late submissions depending on the nature of the circumstance
