Spirit of the Awards

John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise

The spirit of the Baylor Impact Awards is to recognize and celebrate the successes of Texas family-owned businesses and Baylor alumni-owned businesses that have made a transformative impact on their company, industry and community.

  • Recipients of the Texas Family Business of the Year Award award are not required to be Baylor alumni-owned to win the award.
  • Recipients of all other awards must have an association with Baylor.

The Baylor Impact Rules Committee reserves the right to review each company on a case-by-case basis and make eligibility decisions. If there is uncertainty concerning eligibility, contact the director of the Baylor Impact Awards at

Businesses that promote illegal, illicit, unethical, immoral, or other types of activities which may be considered unworthy of an association with the Baylor Impact Awards or Baylor University may be disqualified.

The Baylor Department of Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation will make the final decision on which businesses are selected to compete and reserves the right to either include or exclude any business for any reasons. All decisions are final.

All applicants can be engaged with other department initiatives such as mentorship and judging.
