Reflections of Uganda Mission TripsNov. 16, 2020
By Jason MacGregor
Unfortunately, the 2020 mission trip to Uganda was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, just as many other trips, events and experiences. But this change in plans gives us the opportunity to reflect on previous trips and the impact they have had on the students who attended. We have been able to continue the impact of this ministry because of the continued generous support from our alumni, parents, corporations and friends. We appreciate Jay Powers for providing additional support for the joint effort with Twezimbe Africa and the people of Uganda. Helping establish a local bakery impacted thousands of people who would not otherwise have the means to have a sustained livelihood. Also, at the height of the pandemic, the women made masks with African wax cloth contributing to their income by implementing business lessons taught by Baylor students. This provides critical income to those most in need while serving the broader community. Accounting Missions answers the call of our Christian mission to impact people's hearts while providing solutions to local business needs and opportunities.
