Cameron Thorson, an audit partner in KPMG's energy practice, was the guest speaker and honoree at the 9th Annual Accounting Professional Development Forum held on Nov. 15, 2019. Thorson has eighteen years of experience during which she has served clients of varying sizes across the energy sector. Cameron's experience has been primarily focused on energy-related industries. She has served clients in the upstream, midstream, and services sectors of the energy industry.
In addition to her client service roles, Cameron assists other engagement teams on technical auditing and KPMG methodology matters, including serving as a national instructor.
Cameron has served as a partner champion for KPMG's Network of Women and is an active participant in numerous KPMG diversity networks. She also serves as the audit recruiting partner for KPMG's Houston office and in that role directs the strategy for campus recruiting efforts.
Cameron is a KPMG National Chairman's Award winner which is annually awarded to sixteen professionals across all practices. She is also active in the community serving as a volunteer with St. Mark Lutheran Church and School, CanCare and the Junior League of Houston, Inc.
