Ms. Sher Isada is a junior University Scholars major studying international studies, public health, and medical humanities at Baylor University. After graduation, she plans to attend medical school.
Ms. Isada is the resources co-chair for the Baylor Undergraduate Research in Science and Technology (BURST) organization, which is at the forefront of promoting research at Baylor. She works in Dr. Christopher Kearney’s lab developing mosquito-specific toxins to alleviate third-world issues regarding mosquito control. Born in the Philippines, Ms. Isada is passionate about different cultures and serves as a cross-cultural Global Engagement Peer Leader. In addition, her commitment to helping underserved communities has led her to be named as a Shepherd Scholar. She also is part of the Baylor pre-health leadership team, serving as the pre-health coordinator. She is a tutor for the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence and is a violinist in the Baylor Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Isada attends Fellowship Bible Church in Waco, Texas.
