Miles Jay Allison

Mr. Miles Jay Allison earned a BBA from Baylor in 1978, an MS in economics in 1980, and a JD in 1981. As a Baylor student, he lettered in football for three years and was a member of the 1974 Southwest Conference team that played in the 1975 Cotton Bowl.

Mr. Allison has been a director of Comstock Resources, Inc., a NYSE oil and gas company, since 1987 and chief executive officer of the company since 1988. He was elected chairman of the board of directors in 1997. From 1981 to 1987, he was a practicing oil and gas attorney with the firm Lynch, Chappell & Alsup in Midland, Texas. Mr. Allison was chair of the board of directors of Bois d’Arc Energy, Inc., a NYSE oil and gas company, from the time of its formation in 2004 until its merger with Stone Energy Corporation in 2008. He served as a director of Tidewater, Inc., a NYSE oil and gas service company, for ten years and on the Dallas Wildcat Committee Board of Directors.

Mr. Allison also has served on the advisory board for the Salvation Army, as a trustee of Howard Payne University, and as chair of the Board of Directors for Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, Texas. 

Mr. Allison and his wife, Jenny (BSEd ’78, MSEd ’80), are members of Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, Texas. The Allisons have four children: Aubrey (BBA ’16), married to Declan Kirk (BS ’16); Logan (BSEd ’13); Lucas (BACom ’14); and Jency (BS ’08, MSEd ’09), married to Jeremy Weeks (MSEd ’09) with granddaughter Jacey.
