Mr. Dan Chapman is a private investor and former chairman of the board and a director for First Private Holdings, Inc. and of First Private Bank. In July 2014, he joined the advisory board for IBERIABANK.
Prior to those two banks, he was co-founder of two other successful private banking enterprises, including Northern Trust Bank of Texas. From 1985 to 2002, Mr. Chapman served as the chief executive officer of Northern Trust Bank of Texas.
He is a former member of the board of directors of the Texas Bankers Association. Mr. Chapman is a director and chairman of the governance committee of the Meadows Foundation, having previously served as chairman of the investment committee, and is a former chairman of Children’s Medical Center of Dallas Foundation, after having served on its board of directors. He is also a member of the executive committee of the board of directors and chairman of the finance and investments committee of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Mr. Chapman is a former member of the board of the Texas Cultural Trust. He is a former advisory board member of the Texas Permanent School Fund and former director of the Dallas Symphony, the Alexis de Tocqueville Society, and the United Way of Dallas.
He received a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Baylor University. His wife, Nancy, and their two children, Jan Vicary and Russ Chapman, are also Baylor graduates. In addition, he has two grandchildren currently enrolled at Baylor.
