Annual Events

BIC Leadership Council Events - The BIC Leadership council hosts a variety of events throughout the year focusing on Student, Alumni and Professor relationships.

The school year kicks off with one of the most unique BIC events. In teams of five, students and professors compete in a trivia challenge, answering questions revolving around pop culture, general academic knowledge, and the BIC itself.

BIC Homecoming Lecture

Every year during the week of Homecoming the BIC invites back one of its alumni to deliver a lecture on life after the BIC. Past Lecturers include Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Dharmpal Vasaida, USAID Senior Advisor Megan Rapp, actor and theatre professor John Michael Marrs, lawyer Sabrina Neff, and Assistant professor of Bioethics Dr. Keisha Ray.

Sweet Thank You

To finish off the Fall semester the BIC host a casual social event full of food and fun awards to thank the professors for their hard work. Students are given the power to vote for their favorite professors to win traditional awards like best hair or most likely to be the president, and more unique ones such as most likely to win a wrestling contest with a bear or best evil laugh.

Board Game Night
Board Game Night

Our board game night kicks off the Spring semester by giving our students a chance to reconnect after a much-deserved winter break. Hot Cocoa with games like Monopoly, Risk, Jenga, and Twister, always means a fun BIC community night.

BIC in Cameron Park
BIC in Cameron Park

This is the newest of the BIC’s events that gives students and professors the chance to connect while embracing the start of spring. The BIC takes over Cameron Park as students can enjoy the best food HEB has to offer, plenty of outdoor games, and some great time to get to know professors’ families and pets.

BIC Academic Panel
BIC Academic Panel

The school year is wrapped up with a terrific learning opportunity in which up to four different BIC faculty are gathered to discuss a timely topic. Past topics include: gender and sexuality, Refugees and Immigration, the 2016 presidential election, and ISIS. Not only are students provided with expert opinions on a variety of topics, but sometimes extra credit is even offered in BIC courses for attending!
