Education

The Bear Program is committed to serving the larger community by presenting unique educational experiences on American Black Bears. Local school groups and campus guests frequently visit the Bill & Eva Williams Bear Habitat. The student keepers can facilitate a presentation during which visitors can watch a training session while learning more about Joy and Lady and American Black Bears. The student keepers also frequently host educational events at the Bear Habitat to raise awareness about Black Bear education and conservation.

Thanks to a partnership with the Baylor University School of Education, kindergarten through 12th grade students can attend a field trip with curriculum centered around the Texas curriculum standards for their grade level. The student keepers can customize the field trip experience to meet your school's needs.
