The BBLLC Leadership Program is designed to foster intentional involvement in an effort to encourage first year residents who receive the LLC Scholarship to fully embrace their time in the LLC and at Baylor. The program offers incentives and rewards to students who actively participate in events hosted by the LLC, events at Baylor, and events in the Waco community. All first-year scholarship recipients will enter the LLC as leaders and then transition to resident or non-resident scholarship recipients as returning students.
Baylor & Beyond LLC scholarship offers are contingent upon the recipient living in the Baylor & Beyond LLC in North Russell Hall in the first year. If the recipient fails to select a bed assignment in the Baylor & Beyond LLC, or moves out of the LLC, the scholarship will be removed from your financial aid package and student account.
Students receiving this scholarship their freshman year must agree to the following requirements.
1. Live in the Baylor & Beyond Living-Learning Center your first year on campus
2. Maintain a 2.5 GPA
3. Hold a leadership position in the residence hall
4. Take a 3-unit Freshmen Academic Seminar Course your Fall semester (FAS 1311 – Modern Languages, Cultures, and Global Communities). We will pre-register you for the class so your academic advisors will be able to find it more easily.
In order to receive the BBLLC scholarship, students will engage with the BBLLC through service or leadership for an average of 3 hours per week throughout the year (at least 45 hours total each semester). First-year students will engage the community as council, committee, or neighborhood leaders. As such, they will commit to serve the community with the BBLLC each semester and agree to be an actively engaged member of the residence hall. Scholarship recipients may re-apply annually to retain the scholarship for up to 8 total semesters as a Baylor undergraduate.
