Scholarship: Carolyn Fair Scholarship

Information: The Carolyn Fair Endowed Scholarship Fund in Foster Care Studies was established in 2018 by Will Fair of Waco, Texas.

Mr. William "Will" E. Fair is a 1984 graduate of Baylor University who received his BBA in Marketing and Real Estate. Mr. Fair is a member of the Independent Bank Group, Inc. (IBO) Board of Directors. He joined the board when IBO Central Texas combined with IBO in 2009, prior to which he served as a director of IBO Central Texas beginning in 2007.

Mr. Fair has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Home Abstract and Title Company, a title insurance agency located in Waco, Texas, since 1988 and has served on the Board of Directors of Capstone Mechanical, LP since 2005. He serves on the board of trustees of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Scott & White Healthcare, further serving as Chairman of the Board of Development for that organization. Mr. Fair is also a founder of an organization called Legacy Outfitters, which has grown into a nationally recognized group that leads men to Christ through involvement in the outdoors. Will and his wife, Carolyn, also established additional endowed funds at Baylor University including the Jared L. Frame Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund in memory of Jared L. Frame in the Hankamer School of Business, established in 2016; and The Will and Carolyn Fair Endowed Fund in Management in the Hankamer School of Business, established in 2015.

Will and Carolyn have two children: Mary Margaret and Georgia Fair.

Comments: Preference to students studying foster care and adoption

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Social Work.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
