Scholarship: Lelda Walker/Kelly Walker Schp

Information: The Lelda C. Walker and Granddaughter Kelly L. Walker Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2017 by Thomas L. Walker of Houston, Texas, in honor of his mother, Leida and his daughter, Kelly.

Lelda Walker earned a B.A. degree in elementary education from Baylor University in 1933. She and her husband, Weldon, had two children: Thomas L. Walker and Patricia Walker Smith. Leida was a member of the Baylor Heritage Club and she and Weldon were faithful supporters of Baylor University. Lelda and Weldon made it a priority for their children and grandchildren to get and college Weldon degrees.

Lelda and Weldon's granddaughter, Kelly L. Walker, is a third generation Baylor graduate and earned a B.S.F.C.S. degree in interior design from Baylor University in 2011. While a student at Baylor, Kelly was active in the American Society of Interior Designers and Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Interior Design majors in the Human Sciences & Design department in the College of Health & Human Sci.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
