Scholarship: Wanda Blockhus Scholarship

Information: The Wanda Alexander Blockhus Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2015 by Ann Martin of Mountain View, California, and Don Blockhus of Los Altos, California, in loving memory of Wanda Blockhus.

Wanda Alexander Blockhus was born in Crawford, Texas, and grew up in Waco, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in 1952, and a MS in marketing and economics in 1954. She earned a PhD from the University of Minnesota. Wanda's 42-year career in business education was marked with numerous milestones-her achievement as an educator, administrator, consultant, author, and lecturer. She taught at San Jose State University for 39 years, Queensland Institute of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, and The University of Tbilisi in the Republic of Georgia. Wanda was a Fulbright Scholar, a three-time recipient of the Meritorious Performance Award presented by the Chancellor's office of the California State Universities, and the 1989 recipient of the John Robert Gregg Award from the Association for Research in Business Education (ARBE).

Wanda and her husband, Don, have four children: Ann Martin, Brian, David, and Craig. She remained a loyal Baylor fan throughout her travels.

Ann Martin earned a BBA degree from Baylor University in 1984. She is the national sales manager for Golden State Communications. She is a member of the Baylor "B" Association as an athletic letter winner in volleyball. Ann and her husband, Rick, reside in Mountain View, California, and have two children: Matthew and Sarah.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Marketing majors in the School of Business from California.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
