Scholarship: Apparel Design Scholarship

Information: The Apparel Design and Product Development Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 by Phil L. and Susan M. Parker of Brownwood, Texas.

Phil L. Parker earned a B.B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1965. He is self-employed after retiring as president of Parkem Industrial Services. Susan M. Parker earned a B.A. degree in 1965. Phil and Susan have three children: JoEllen Parker Aldridge (B.S.H.E. ’90), Phil L. Parker, Jr. (B.B.A. ’01), and Pamela Parker Lindsey (a graduate of Northwestern University). Phil and Susan are faithful supporters of Baylor University. They funded the Ray Parker Memorial Endowed Athletic Scholarship in 1986 and the Phil and Susan Parker Endowed Fund in Family and Consumer Sciences in 1988, which purchased computers for fashion design, renovated a computer lab for the programs use and constructed the Parker Design Center in 2009. They are members of the Baylor Bear Foundation, Endowed Scholarship Society, and Huckins Medallion Fellowship.

Criteria:  For Apparel Design & Product Devel majors in the Human Sciences & Design department who are a junior or senior.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and/or merit.
