Scholarship: Carl & Rita Bonds Scholarship

Information: The Carl and Rita Bonds Endowed Scholarship Fund in Nursing was established in 2014 by Carl G. and Rita C. Bonds of Richardson, Texas.

Carl G. Bonds earned a B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1959. He is the owner and CEO of Bonds Benefit Company. He has over twenty-five years of experience in employee benefits and specializes in helping companies provide a competitive benefits plan for their employees. Mr. Bonds is a member of the Richardson Central Rotary Club and a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals. He is also a deacon at the Heights Baptist Church.

Rita C. Bonds earned a B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1969 and a M.L.S. degree from Texas Woman’s University in 1981. She has been a member of the Baylor University Women’s Council of Dallas for thirteen years and has served as president during that time.

The Bonds are members of the Baylor University Endowed Scholarship Society, Old Main Society, 1845 Society, and Bear Foundation. Rita and Carl have three children: Janis Bonds-Harper, Scott Allen Bonds (B.B.A. ’10), and Stephen Bonds.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Nursing.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
