Scholarship: Alfred D Denton, Jr Schp

Information: The Alfred David Denton, Jr., Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund in Chemistry was established in 2014 by Robert and Ruby Jo Cagle of Denton, Texas in memory of Ruby Jo’s brother, Alfred David Denton, Jr.

Alfred David Denton Jr., M.S. ‘60, was always known to family and friends as A.D. Anyone who engaged A.D. in even the briefest of conversations heard stories from his years of studying chemistry at Baylor and from his long career in the field of chemistry. He was particularly proud of the ten years he spent at the Baylor Medical Center.

By establishing this scholarship fund, the family wishes to perpetuate A.D.’s pride in his alma mater. Their deepest hope is that students from humble beginnings will pursue their love of science at the Baylor College of Arts and Sciences, and, like A.D., find their way into meaningful work that they love.

His family remembers Alfred David Denton Jr., their devoted brother, with this legacy and blesses his quiet life.
