Scholarship: Betsy Best Willis Scholarship

Information: The Betsy Best Willis Endowed Scholarship Fund in Accounting was established in 2012 by Robert C. and Diana Best of Richmond, Virginia.

Betsy Best Willis earned B.B.A. and M.Tax. degrees from Baylor University in 1971 and 1987, respectively. She joined the faculty of Baylor in 1977. In her time at Baylor, she Betsy has garnered many awards and honors, including the Mortar Board Circle of Excellence, the Phi Beta Lambda Teach of the Year Award and the Chi Omega Award for Outstanding Dedication to Baylor Students.

Steven V. Willis earned B.S. and B.A. degrees from Baylor University in 1972. He is a partner with Willis Design Group and previously served as president of First Central Credit Union in Waco.

Mr. and Mrs. Willis are active members of First Baptist Church Waco where Ms. Willis serves as preschool division director. They have three children: Bryan (B.S.E. ’99), Blake (B.B.A/M.A. ’00) and Wendy (B.S.F.C.S. ’00).

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Accounting majors in the School of Business.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
