Scholarship: Randy & Cathey Hall Schp

Information: The Randy and Cathey Hall Endowed Scholarship Fund in Mathematics and Physics was established in 2013 by J. Randy and Cathey L. Hall of Waco, Texas.

John Randy Hall earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Baylor University in 1971 and 1972, respectively. Cathey Lynne Underwood Hall earned a B.S.Ed. degree from Baylor in 1973. The Halls have one daughter: Jessica Robin Janicek (B.B.A. ’06). They are members of the Bear Foundation and are life members of the Baylor Alumni Association. Mr. Hall was president and CEO of DIGATEX, Inc. and after selling his company in 2001, became the chairman of the science department at Dripping Springs High School. He later became a lecturer in the mathematics and physics departments at Baylor. Ms. Hall taught emotionally disturbed children at a private psychiatric hospital and later served as minister to children at a large Baptist church in Austin.

Comments: For Mathematics majors in the College of Arts & Sciences who are a sophomore, junior, or senior.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the Physics or Mathematics departments.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and/or merit.
